Marie Ramirez of Costa Rica continues to lead the women's division at the 2003 AMF Bowling World Cup,
underway at Planeta Sipango bowling center. Her lead shrank to one pin, however, as defending champion
Shannon Pluhowsky began her run for a second consecutive title. Ramirez has 3,370 pins for 15 games,
and Pluhowsky 3,369.

  Trailing the frontrunners are Kerrie Ryan-Ciach of Canada, whose final three games of the morning totaled 783,
and Shalin Zulkifli of Malaysia. Ryan-Ciach has 3,297 pins for a 219.8 average, while Zulkifli has 3,274 pins
and a 218.27 average after 15 games. Honduras' Maria Elena Breve Ferrari is in 35th place with 2,748 pins
and a 183.2 average. She is 216 pins away from making the cut tomorrow at 24th place.
